April 18, 2017 11:07 amA few days back, I was driving along in a dark mood when this song came on the radio. Boom! – I was smiling and singing along. It totally elevated my mood. “Why?” I wondered.
Here’s the answer – David Bowie’s “Rebel, Rebel” is great song and that’s what great songs do. I called a buddy and here’s what he said – “We used to play that song live in the 70’s and 80’s and it ALWAYS went over well. It’s just one of those songs that wasn’t a big hit but when people heard it for the first time they loved it. Same thing with Suffragette City…”
So what makes a great song? I dunno, but you’ll know one when you hear one.
