The Pengwins
Mightily influenced by their brethren across the pond, The Pengwins became high octane British and glam rock ambassadors to their fellow Texans. The band honed their chops on the Southwest bar circuit and later took their brand of British rock n’ roll with power pop sensibilities on semi-annual jaunts out to the Right Coast. In their initial 15 year career, they garnered significant attention from such seminal music icons as Rick Derringer and Jim Dickinson (famed producer of Big Star and The Replacements), both of whom produced later recording sessions for The ‘Gwins. The band re-formed in 2005 and have been recording and playing select venues since that time.
